HOW TO ORDER A SAMPLE

Your wedding ceremony, be it in a church or at another venue is the most important part of your big day. Order of service booklets or order of the day cards allow your guests to join in and share it with you, singing your chosen hymns and responding to the minister.

We can offer all of the guidance you need to organise the content. We can present it in a clear way for your guests whilst ensuring it ties in with your theme and looks beautiful.

It can be difficult to know what to include in your order of service. We suggest you take the advice of the minister who may be able to supply you with a format. Generally the following example works well:

To allow everyone to join in it is a good idea to keep to well known hymns

Copyright applies to hymns for 70 years after the death of the writer, and during that time it's illegal to reproduce the work without the permission of the copyright holder or their agent. This means that if you want to print a hymn in your order of service, and the work is covered by copyright, you'll need permission of the copyright holder and a fee may be payable for this. If you are having a church ceremony, the church may already have a license for the music you want to sing. Just check with the minister.

Order of Service

Order of service booklets are usually used for couples who are having their wedding ceremony in a church. Order of service booklets are usually A5 size (approximately 150mm x 200mm). The cover can be printed with wording in the font style and colour of your choice. If you wish it can also be decorated to match any of our stationery ranges, or simply tied along the spine with a ribbon to match your colour scheme.

Order of the Day

If you are not getting married in a church then an order of the day card or booklet is perfect for you. It lets your guests know what will happen and when. It can include day and evening entertainment, timings and locations of different parts of the day. It can even include the names of the best man and bridesmaids.

Order of the day booklets are the same as the order of service booklets at 15mm x 200mm in size. The cover can be printed and decorated to your specifications and the insert will be printed with the necessary information.

Order of the day cards will be flat cards with the information printed onto one side. They can be any size you choose, but look great at around 120mm x 160mm. Fabulous when decorated with ribbon to coordinate with your wedding colour scheme. The hole is eyeleted for strength. See the examples below.

Colour and Design Options:

Base card colour and texture. We have chosen what we feel is the most suitable for each design. If you would like to change it, choose from the options below. If you have a particular card colour in mind, let us know and we will find it for you!

OPTION 1 - IVORY - For our card designs we use a stunning card which is ivory in colour. The colour is not white or cream. It suits all of our designs well and also matches well with all colour schemes. It also works well at wedding venues with white table linen. The card has subtle light reflecting particles which look beautiful when the card catches the light. It is a good weight, and all printed inserts are on matching paper.

OPTION 2 - FLAT CREAM - Smooth cream card. A classic matt card finish. A high quality heavy weight card. Inserts printed on matching paper.

OPTION 3 - FLAT WHITE - Smooth white card. A classic matt card finish. A high quality heavy weight card. Inserts on matching paper.

Order of Service Booklets

The inserts for our order of service booklets are glued into the covers. This means they do not slip down when they are held. It also means that every page can be opened properly.

Order of the Day Booklets / Cards

If you are having a civil ceremony then an order of the day is perfect for you. It basically outlines the events of the day along with timings and locations.

These can be booklets similar to the order of service booklets above, or flat cards as shown below. They can be any size you require. You can choose a simply printed design with or without Swarovski crystal detailing, or a ribbon tasselled design as shown below. This includes an eyelet in gold or silver and a double ribbon tassell with the ribbon colour of your choice.
